How to Prepare for Your MRI

Simple steps to ensure the best possible imaging results and a smooth experience on the day of your scan.

Bring your doctor's referral Most MRI scans require a referral from your doctor or specialist. Bring the original letter along with any previous scan reports.

Remove all metal objects Remove jewellery, watches, hairpins, hearing aids, and any removable metal implants before entering the MRI room.

Inform us of any implants Tell our staff if you have a pacemaker, metal implant, cochlear implant, or any other internal device before your scan.

Fasting for contrast scans If your MRI requires contrast dye, you may be asked to fast for 4–6 hours beforehand. Our team will inform you in advance.
